Scheduling & Studio Policies

Everyone

• The trial lesson is $30 for 30 minutes, paid at booking and non-refundable.
• Monthly plans are billed every four weeks and kept current to hold your spot. Cancel before the next cycle to stop billing; the current cycle is non-refundable.
• Single lessons are paid per session at the time of booking.
• Scheduling changes go through your booking links or email, not day-of texts.
• Lessons are in person. Students bring their own instrument and any assigned materials.
• Unbound Brass may photograph or record lessons and recitals for educational and promotional use. Families who prefer their student not appear may opt out in writing.
• The annual studio recital is optional. Performing families share the venue and accompanist costs, confirmed by two months before the recital, after which each family's share is locked in.
• Reliability matters: a first no-call, no-show earns a direct conversation and forfeits that lesson with no refund; a second releases your spot, with no refund of the current cycle.
• Rare emergencies are handled individually, at the teacher's discretion.

Private Lessons

• Lessons are held in person and start and end at their scheduled time. Arriving late does not extend the lesson.
• Cancel with at least two days notice and you get a Zoom makeup.
• With less than two days notice, or a no-show, the lesson is forfeited with no makeup or refund, barring genuine illness at the teacher's discretion.
• Same-day illness or weather may move a lesson to Zoom at the teacher's discretion.

Studio Class

• The studio class date is announced at the start of each month.
• Cancel with at least one week's notice to make it up with one individual lesson, not a three-hour replacement, limited to one studio-class makeup per semester.
• With less than one week's notice, the class is forfeited with no makeup, barring something extreme judged case by case.
• If the teacher cancels a studio class, it is rescheduled for the group, or made up with an individual lesson if it truly cannot be rescheduled.

Booking a lesson means you agree to these policies.
